Who We Are

The Family of Joseph is a Movement of the Spirit that gathers people who resonate with the charism of Unity and Reconciliation as expressed by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange.

Since 1650 people have been in relationship with the sisters in a variety of ways.  Examples include, Agrégées, Associates, Covenant and Partners in Mission.  Recognizing that others embody the charism of reconciling inclusive love, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange envisioned a new way of bringing life to this reality.  A group of Companions in the Charism searched for ways to broaden and strengthen relationships, which led to a large gathering where the term “Family of Joseph” emerged. A remarkable spirit ignited the subsequent journey.  Most recently through shared experiences of prayer, contemplative conversations and community outreach, small groups of people deepen their relationship with God, self, others, and creation.

Energized by the Spirit, Family of Joseph companions live and work to expand God’s inclusive love in the world.  The movement continues to unfold!

The charism is within you – live it fully!

WHO WE ARE

The Family of Joseph is a Movement of the Spirit that gathers people who resonate with the charism of Unity and Reconciliation as expressed by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange.

OUR MISSION

We gather like-hearted people who desire to expand God’s inclusive love in the world.

OUR VISION

Energized by the Spirit, we aspire to foster a world in which all may be one.

Our Core Values

DIGNITY

We believe everyone is created in the image and likeness of God – that there is a spark of the divine within each of us, to be valued and respected.

INTEGRITY

We believe in living life authentically with humility and simplicity, true to who we say we are, for it is through us that Love is made visible to all we encounter.

SOLIDARITY

We believe each of us is a part of the human family and all of creation, interconnected and interdependent, called to stand together and walk with the most vulnerable and marginalized.

RESPONSIVENESS

We believe we are called to be instruments of God’s healing love in addressing the needs of the dear neighbor without distinction, locally and globally, in both word and action.

SPIRITUALITY

We believe we grow into deeper relationship with God, one another, and all of creation through celebrations, personal and communal prayer, reflection, and contemplation.
